Tomb of Zhu Fengbiao

The Tomb of Zhu Fengbiao is a cultural relic protection unit of Hangzhou City.

The Tomb of Zhu Fengbiao is located at Renren Ridge in Shanlishen Village, Suoqian Town.

After Zhu Fengbiao passed away, he was buried on Shangnian Wang Mountain in Shanlishen Village. The tomb was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and was restored in 1994. In front of the tomb lies an imperial edict inscribed by his great-grandson Zhu Jiajin; on both sides are embellishments such as decorative plaques and stone beasts.

Zhu Fengbiao (October 10, 1800 – August 2, 1873), courtesy name Tongxuan, art name Jianxia, was a native of Zhujiatan Village, east of Xiaoshan, Zhejiang. In the eighth year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1828), he passed the provincial imperial examination. In the twelfth year, he ranked second in the palace examination and was awarded the degree of Jinshi, later appointed as a compiler. In the nineteenth year, he entered the Imperial Study to serve the princes, and was later appointed as the educational commissioner of Hubei. In the twenty-first year, he was made associate director of the Imperial College and later promoted to attendant reader. In the twenty-fourth year, he was elevated to reader-in-waiting. The following year, he was ordered to tutor the Seventh Prince (Prince Chun) and was promoted to minister of the Grand Secretariat, concurrently serving as vice minister of the Ministry of Rites.
