Taohuayuan Farmstay is located in the northeastern part of Changshan County, at the source of Furong Lake, 45 kilometers from the county town and 3 kilometers from the township government. Originally called "Dayuan," during 1936–1937, the Northern Expeditionary Force led by Fang Zhimin established a red base in Xinqiao Township. While the Red Army was active in the Dayuan area, a Red Army general, impressed by the blooming peach blossoms, used charcoal to write the words “境凝2桃源” (meaning roughly "a realm condensed into Peach Blossom Spring") on the farmhouse walls. Additionally, Dayuan is the birthplace of Wutao, a rare and prized variety of peach, which is abundantly produced here. In spring, peach blossom streams flow gently, with countless blossoms dotting the water—emanating the very charm of a Peach Blossom Spring. Since then, people have referred to "Dayuan" as "Taohuayuan" (Peach Blossom Spring). The "Seventy-Two Households of Peach Blossom Spring" live along both sides of the Peach Blossom Stream, surrounded by mountains, near water, shaded by green trees, and enveloped in bamboo groves. Known as a “natural oxygen bar” and “natural bathhouse,” it is truly the “Little Jiuzhaigou of the South.” The Taohuayuan Scenic Area boasts a forest coverage rate of 98%, sits at an altitude of 650 meters, and enjoys an average summer temperature of 22 degrees Celsius—cool and pleasant, making it an ideal summer retreat. The area features abundant scenic spots, simple local customs, and a beautiful living environment, serving as a perfect destination for visitors to enjoy pastoral scenery, experience rural life, and engage in leisure travel.
