Destination Introduction

Eagle Green Farm was established in 1998 and is located in the Fengxiang Technology Development Zone in the southeastern part of Huairou District, just over an hour’s drive from downtown Beijing. The farm covers an area of over 800 acres and is a high-tech agricultural enterprise. Currently, the farm has hired two renowned agricultural experts, four professors, eight doctors, and more than twenty research personnel. It also collaborates with institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, and China Agricultural University to conduct space mutation breeding experiments and research.

Spacecraft No. 1, 2, 3, 4, as well as three test satellites launched in February, August, and October 2004, all carried seeds and tissue-cultured seedlings of over 200 varieties, including fruit trees (grapes, raspberries, etc.), vegetables (eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes, bottle gourds, etc.), flowers (salvia, marigolds, etc.), grasses (alfalfa, zoysia, and Kentucky bluegrass used for golf course turf), as well as cotton and soybeans. These were implemented by Eagle Manor, and the research results have been remarkable.

Since its establishment, Eagle Green Park has gradually introduced over 40 varieties of fruit trees such as American seedless grapes, Hungarian cherries, raspberries, peaches, plums, apricots, and jujubes through batch introductions. These are planted in designated areas for picking, surrounded by windbreak and greening trees.

The entrance gate of Eagle Green Park is a steel arch structure decorated with tens of thousands of silk flowers in red, yellow, and green, creating a warm and grand welcome for guests. Inside the gate is a hundred-meter bottle gourd arbor, where over one-meter-long space-grown bottle gourds greet visitors. The main pathways and parking areas in the leisure zone are hardened with cement or paved with gravel. There are 21 solar greenhouses and the spaces between them that serve as a testing and research base for space breeding and green-label products. The leisure area also features two lighted bamboo corridors for visitors to rest, enjoy tea, and dine on signature farmhouse dishes. A hundred-meter science education corridor includes display boards and seating. There is also an aviary (housing animals such as blue peacocks, American quails, guineafowl, white king pigeons, and turkeys) for visitors to observe. Accommodation Information

You can also visit the farm’s wild boar, Tibetan mastiff, and sika deer bases, as well as the strawberry picking garden. For accommodation, there are quiet and comfortable farmhouse courtyards where you’re sure to feel right at home. Special Notes

In December 2003, after review by the China Green Food Development Center, the American seedless grapes planted at Eagle Green Manor were certified as National Green Food Grade A products, permitted to use the green food logo (brand “Shasha”). In May 2004, Eagle Manor was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China as an executing unit for the national Torch Plan project “Space Mutation Breeding.” In December 2004, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission approved Eagle Manor as a high-tech enterprise.
