Destination Introduction

Beijing Hongluo Lake Bird Island is primarily a tourist resort dedicated to observing various rare bird species. It focuses on leisure, environmental protection, science education, and wellness, while also featuring interactive, fun activities, as well as dining and accommodation options.

The bird island spans 200 acres of land and 1,000 acres of water, nestled at the foot of the famous Hongluo Temple. It is surrounded on three sides by nearly 1,000 acres of Hongluo Lake and borders a tourist railway on one side. It lies 1.3 km south of Huairou District, 1.7 km north of Hongluo Temple, and 52 km from downtown Beijing.

Here, the lake ripples gently, shaded by lush trees, with mountains and water in harmony and birds singing all around. The area is home to numerous Class I and II nationally protected wild animals. It also hosts rare migratory species such as black swans, emus from Australia, flamingos from Europe, as well as vultures, steppe eagles, mandarin ducks, wild geese, red-crowned cranes, and yellow-billed storks—nearly a hundred species and thousands of precious birds. The air is filled with birdsong and floral scents, creating a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere.

The island features a 100-meter bird science corridor, a children’s fun park, fishing and cooking areas, a fish-catching game zone, as well as boating and dining services. Near the lakeside, a nearly 1,000-meter grassy area includes a bonfire plaza, along with fitness and indoor entertainment facilities. Stone tables, benches, swings, and hammocks are available throughout the island.
