Huairou Beijing International Ski Resort

The Huairou Beijing International Ski Resort is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Huairou Beijing International Ski Resort is located 67 kilometers from Beijing and can be reached by car in just one hour. It sits within the Jiugukou Natural Scenic Area, 18 kilometers north of Huairou County and 5 kilometers north of Yanqi Lake. Nestled against mountains and a lake, and encircled by the Great Wall, it is a renowned tourist destination that blends natural scenery with cultural heritage. The Ming Dynasty Great Wall within the resort follows the mountain’s contours and connects continuously with the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The famous “Jia Bian Lou” (Narrow Tower) is a unique feature of the wall.

The ski slopes at the Huairou Beijing International Ski Resort stretch over 3,100 meters in total length with a vertical drop of 238 meters. The advanced and intermediate slopes are comparable in scale to the No. 6 and No. 9 slopes of China’s largest ski resort, Yabuli. The beginner slopes consist of four separate runs.

The resort features a 1,200-meter-long sightseeing cable car and three tow ropes. Its uniquely designed comprehensive building houses ski equipment shops, restaurants, guest rooms, and other recreational facilities, providing skiers with high-quality and convenient services. The ski shop offers over 1,500 sets of ski boards and boots in various sizes. There are Chinese and Western fast-food restaurants as well as a snow bar, which can accommodate up to 500 diners at once. In addition to skiing, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as snowmobile rides, horse-drawn sleighs, and snow archery. There are also more than 20 professional ski instructors available for guidance. The resort is open from mid-December to early March each year, with a daily capacity of 1,500 visitors and 500 parking spaces.
