The Deqing County Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Deqing County Museum was established in 1965 and was originally named the Deqing County Cultural Relics Museum. It was renamed the Deqing County Museum in 1977 and is a local comprehensive history museum.

The museum’s collection ranges from the Neolithic Age of the primitive society to the modern era, with main categories including stone tools, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, and jade artifacts. The new building of the Deqing Museum has a construction area of 6,000 square meters, of which 2,600 square meters are exhibition space. It features one permanent exhibition titled “Living Amid the Mountains and Waters of Wu and Yue,” divided into three sections: “Traces of History—Highlights of Wu and Yue,” “Folklore Legacy of the Water Town in Dreams,” and “Gathering of Celebrities—Aroma of Ink and Brush.” The exhibition displays over 200 first-, second-, and third-grade cultural relics from Deqing spanning from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Utilizing sound, light, and electric technologies, the static display of relics and dynamic simulation of scenes complement each other, outlining the development trajectory of Deqing’s 7,000-year history and comprehensively showcasing the area’s rich historical and cultural heritage. It serves as an important window for external promotion of Deqing County and a key venue for education on both material and spiritual civilization.
