The Hongshen Lake Tourist Resort is located at the junction of Huairou, Shunyi, and Changping counties. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the lake features crystal-clear water, a cool climate, and an elegant environment. The Hongshen Lake scenic area spans 1,400 acres of water surface. The Longmen Temple Waterfall is situated upstream of the reservoir, with a drop of nearly 20 meters and a width of up to 6 meters during the flood season, creating a spectacular sight as the water cascades down. The Tower Garden Ruins are located on the western shore of the reservoir, while the Black Dragon Pool lies on the eastern shore, consisting of four deep pools aligned in a row. The pool water is clear and unfathomably deep.

Hiking up the valley, you’ll find several stone hollows of varying sizes at the top of a huge rock. Legend has it that these marks were left by General Yang Liulang, who rested here while resisting the Jin invasion, thus giving rise to the "Yang Liulang’s Resting Spot" relic. The resort mainly offers water-based recreational activities, including speedboats, jet skis, small dragon boats, and large covered boats. The small wooden cabins in the tourist area are nestled against the mountains and by the water, providing accommodations for visitors. The dining options mainly feature farm-style cuisine, and guests can also choose to try whole roasted lamb or stewed dog meat.
