Huzhou Martyrs' Cemetery

The Huzhou Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Huzhou Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1986 and is located on Xianshan Hill in southern Huzhou. With a total construction area of over 7,161 square meters, it is divided into five sections: the cemetery square, the memorial platform, the memorial hall, the monument, and the ecological graveyard. In 2015, it was designated as a "Zhejiang Provincial Patriotic Education Base."

Among these, the Huzhou Martyrs Memorial Hall covers a construction area of over 5,442 square meters and consists of two floors: the first floor includes seven sections— namely the foyer, the Great Revolution of 1911, the Founding of a New Era, Continuing the Struggle, Saving the Nation, the Liberation Movement, and Entering the New Era. It displays the names and deeds of more than a thousand martyrs related to Huzhou through a wealth of graphic materials, especially physical items such as letters, notes, and personal belongings of the martyrs. The second floor houses the Qian Zhuangfei Memorial Hall, which consists of eight parts: the foyer, Devotion to the Revolution, Two Years in Shanghai and Hangzhou, Hiding in the Dragon’s Pool, The Night in Jinling, Years in the Red Capital, The Long March, and the finale. It exhibits over a thousand items including documents, newspapers, photographs, relics, paintings, models, and film works, making it currently the largest and most advanced Qian Zhuangfei memorial site in China.

In recent years, relying on infrastructure upgrades, the Huzhou Martyrs' Cemetery has continuously improved its management and service standards, significantly enhancing the site's social impact. Since 2011, the cemetery has received a total of 150,000 visitors from all walks of life and nearly a thousand groups, making it a key venue for patriotic education in our city.

Opening Hours:

1. Cemetery Area Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

2. Memorial Hall Hours: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM; 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM.

3. Memorial Activity Hours: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM; 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM.

The entire site is open on weekdays and closed on public holidays. Special arrangements will be announced separately.
