Taihu Lake Bridge

Taihu Lake Bridge stretches from Yuyang Mountain in Xukou in the east to West Dongting Mountain in the west, passing through Changsha and Ye Shan islands. It consists of three major bridges, with a total length of 4,308 meters, 181 spans, and a deck width of 12 meters. The bridge features a simple, bright, lightweight, and novel design with a strong sense of the times. It complements the landscape of Taihu Lake, resembling a dancing silver chain meandering and undulating among the lake’s islands.

This massive project was funded with over 100 million yuan raised by Wu County in Jiangsu Province and completed through the efforts of nearly a thousand construction workers over two years. The completion of the bridge not only fundamentally resolved transportation issues for the islands of West Taihu Lake, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of local residents to have a bridge, but also plays an active role in developing and utilizing the natural resources of Taihu Lake, leveraging its geographical advantages, accelerating the development of the Suzhou Taihu National Tourism and Vacation Zone, and establishing a tourism economic zone around Taihu Lake.
