Though not large in size, spanning just over 30 acres, Paradise Island boasts an excellent location in Taihu Lake. Nearby attractions include Peach Blossom Island and Three Mountains Island. Originally named Beijianhu Island, it later became known locally as Gong Li Island because the latter part of the film "Shake It, Shake It, Shake to Grandma’s Bridge," directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Gong Li, was shot here. Later, due to its picturesque scenery reminiscent of a paradise on earth, it was renamed Paradise Island. Today, after development, the island has become a green leisure destination integrating travel, entertainment, dining, and accommodation. Of course, some scenes from the filming of "Shake It, Shake It, Shake to Grandma’s Bridge" are still preserved on the island.

Take a painted pleasure boat and enjoy the breathtaking views of Taihu Lake; before long, you’ll arrive at Paradise Island in the middle of the lake. The island is divided into 15 zones:

The wildlife observation area is also a great choice for getting close to and learning about nature. The movie "Shake It, Shake It, Shake to Grandma’s Bridge," directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Gong Li, was filmed on Paradise Island, bringing this small island in Taihu Lake to the world’s attention.
