Songnan Ecological Farm is located to the north of the thousand-year-old ancient town of Luzhi in Suzhou, bordering Kunshan City to the east, the Wusong River to the north, the Suzhou Industrial Park to the west, and connected to the Suzhou-Shanghai Airport Road to the south. The Sujiaotai Expressway runs through it, situated just 18 km from downtown Suzhou and 50 km from downtown Shanghai, offering highly convenient water and land transportation.

The farm spans a total area of 800 acres, with an investment of over 30 million yuan. It includes ten functional zones: the Traditional Agriculture Planting Area, Modern Agriculture Demonstration Area, Flower and Nursery Display Area, Poultry and Aquatic Farming Area, Ancient Town Bridge Exhibition Area, Cultural and Leisure Activity Area, Farmhouse Specialty Dining Area, Conference and Accommodation Reception Area, Children’s Activity and Entertainment Area, and Farm Life Participation Area. In 2009, the Taiwan-based agri-tech tourism project “Herb Garden” was introduced, covering 220 acres with premium sightseeing orchards, greenhouse vegetable production areas, as well as horse lantern entertainment, eco-wellness dining, camping fishing spots, and log cabin accommodations.

Songnan Ecological Farm can accommodate up to ten thousand visitors at once across its various zones for sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, tasting, and enjoyment. It serves as an elegant and natural retreat away from urban noise, forming the development framework of Songnan's ecological tourism agriculture.

The Modern Agriculture Demonstration Area cultivates five specialized pollution-free agricultural product bases: strawberry base, grape garden base, edible fungi base, snail farming base, and aquatic crop base, all available for both viewing and picking.

The Farmhouse Specialty Dining Area features a four-star agritainment hotel by the lake, offering unobstructed views of shimmering waters and gentle breezes—truly a case of “a feast for the eyes.” All food served comes from the pollution-free agricultural product bases within the ecological farm.

In the Cultural and Leisure Activity Area, activities such as horse riding, walking along the hundred-meter fitness corridor, and crossing the suspension bridge help exercise the body; tea tasting, fishing, and leisurely boat rides soothe the mind and spirit; while watching traditional farm performances and enjoying pingtan storytelling enhance cultural appreciation.

The Children’s Activity and Entertainment Area provides a lively and slightly thrilling play atmosphere with diverse amusement options such as water adventure bridges, intelligence mazes, merry-go-rounds, water bumper boats, go-karts, shooting games, and ice-skating. These activities offer various physical training opportunities to promote children’s health and well-being.

The Farm Life Participation Area showcases the authentic scenes of traditional agricultural life. The farming area displays a series of conventional farming processes, with costumed figures using traditional Jiangnan farming tools, presenting the region’s farming culture and distinctive rural attire.

The Ancient Town Bridge Exhibition Area replicates and condenses the prototypes of bridges from the ancient town, meticulously relocating all 43 existing historic bridges within the town’s current river system into a 15-acre landscaped garden.
