The Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum is situated in the Biluo Scenic Area of Dongshan Ancient Town, embraced by verdant mountains and vibrant fruit and flower gardens, creating a highly picturesque setting. Built in 2008 with an investment exceeding 60 million yuan by Suzhou Dongshan Tea Factory, the 18-acre site includes a constructed area of 5,600 square meters. The tea museum features various exhibition areas such as historical tea culture artifacts, tea tasting, tea culture, and tea artistry. In particular, Biluochun tea—one of China’s top ten famous teas, produced in the eastern and western Dongting Mountains—is introduced in detail, covering its history, formation, production process, and quality. It also delves into topics such as Emperor Kangxi bestowing the name "Biluochun," Biluochun tea culture, its association with notable figures and folk legends, its nutritional value and health benefits, related dishes, how to properly taste it, storage methods, and more. The museum aims to combine knowledge with entertainment, making it enjoyable for audiences of all backgrounds.

The museum boasts three major highlights: 1) A lifelike, ancient-style sculpture of Lu Yu, the Sage of Tea, carved from rosewood; 2) A mystical "Flying Teapot" installation outside the museum, where a giant teapot hangs in mid-air with flowing water cascading down; 3) A white marble statue in the scenic viewing area titled “The Biluochun Maiden,” based on a local folk tale from Dongshan.

As the first tea museum in the Suzhou area, the Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum offers a range of supporting services including the "Defu Lou" restaurant specializing in Taihu Lake aquatic cuisine, the "Biluoshan Villa" for leisure and vacation stays, and the "Zijin Hall" for tea tasting and sightseeing. The entire facility can accommodate up to a thousand visitors daily, with an estimated annual attendance of 100,000. The museum regularly hosts various tea ceremonies, performances of Jiangnan silk and bamboo music, and storytelling and ballad singing (Pingtan), ensuring that visitors are thoroughly entertained and reluctant to leave. The Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum presents a comprehensive tea culture world dedicated to tea enjoyment, leisure, vacationing, sightseeing, and wellness, captivating and delighting tourists who often find themselves enchanted and unwilling to depart.

The establishment and opening of the Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum not only helps younger generations gain a deeper understanding of Jiangnan's famous teas—especially the long history of Biluochun from the Dongting Mountains—but also boosts the sales of agricultural and specialty products from surrounding tea and fruit farmers. At the same time, it plays a positive role in promoting the development of tourism in the ancient town of Dongshan.
