Lingyan Peony Garden is located at the southern foot of Lingyan Mountain in Mudu, southwest of Gusu City. Covering an area of 50 acres, it cultivates 15,000 peony plants of over 300 varieties, making it the largest and most diverse peony garden in the Jiangnan region. The garden features dozens of rare varieties in yellow, black, green, red, pink, purple, blue, white, and multicolor series.

In addition to showcasing various large, richly colored, luxuriant, and fragrant peonies, Lingyan Peony Garden also collaborates with the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has been designated as a conservation base for Jiangnan peonies. From late March to May each year, peonies and peony-like paeonies in the garden bloom competitively, creating a vibrant sea of colors and a springtime spectacle throughout the garden.

The peony garden is also planted with seasonal flowers year-round and hosts flower exhibitions for each season: azalea exhibitions in spring, water lily and lotus exhibitions in summer, chrysanthemum exhibitions in autumn, and peony science exhibitions in winter. Additionally, the garden uses advanced technology to force out-of-season peonies to bloom in winter, allowing visitors to admire the beauty of peonies even during the Spring Festival.
