Guangfu Shizhu Garden

Shizhu Garden is located opposite Situ Temple in Guangfu Town, Suzhou, covering an area of 1,200 square meters. It is one of the private collections that have emerged in recent years, adding a new attraction to the historic and cultural town of Guangfu on the shores of Taihu Lake.

Inside Shizhu Garden, a wide variety of uniquely shaped rocks catch the eye, including the “Four Famous Rocks” — Taihu rocks and Kun rocks from Jiangsu, Lingbi rocks from Anhui, and Ying stones from Guangdong. There are also dozens of other types, such as the differently shaped stalactites from Guangxi, Laoshan green stones, Qingtian stones from Zhejiang, Balin paired stones from Inner Mongolia, Boshan literary stones from Shandong, Heluo stones from Henan, dinosaur egg fossils, petrified wood, leaf fossils, algal fossils, fish fossils, shell fossils, coral fossils, and sea urchin fossils.

As the ancient saying goes, “Better to live without meat than without bamboo.” Another highlight of Shizhu Garden is the various famous bamboos, such as square bamboo, purple bamboo, Yanlai bamboo, Guanyin bamboo, phoenix-tail bamboo, qinsī bamboo, and olive bamboo. Accompanied by the oddly shaped rocks, these delicate bamboos add a refined charm to the small garden, enhancing its serene and secluded ambiance.

By Bus: Take bus routes 63, 64, 65, 651, etc., in Suzhou City and get off at Xiangxue Village Station to reach the scenic area.

By Car:

1. From Shanghai: — (G2) — S58 — exit at Guangfu Interchange — turn right at the second traffic light along Provincial Highway 230 heading west, then go north on ShanGuang Road — Shiguang Scenic Area.

2. From Nanjing/Wuxi: — (G2) — Dongqiao Hub — S9, S58 — exit at Guangfu Interchange — turn right at the second traffic light along Provincial Highway 230 heading west, then go north on ShanGuang Road — Shiguang Scenic Area.

3. From Zhejiang: via the Suzhou-Jiaxing-Hangzhou (Zhapu-Suzhou) Expressway — Yinshan Hub — S58 — exit at Guangfu Interchange — turn right at the second traffic light along Provincial Highway 230 heading west, then go north on ShanGuang Road — Shiguang Scenic Area.
