Tomb of Zhu Jiyi

The Tomb of Zhu Jiyi is a cultural relics protection unit of Suzhou City.

The Tomb of Zhu Jiyi is located between Zhujia Hetou and Lujia Hetou in Binghui Village, Xishan. Zhu Jiyi was a high-ranking official of the Yue State during the Spring and Autumn Period. After King Goujian of Yue was defeated by King Fuchai of Wu, he sent Zhu Jiyi as an envoy to Wu, through bribing the Grand Tutor Bo Pi heavily, he managed to secure peace for Yue. According to the "Dongpo Zhilin" (Dongpo's Bamboo Grove Collection) from the Southern Song Dynasty, this is the tomb of Zhu Jiyi, who made great contributions to Yue. The surrounding area is serene and shaded by trees, with a tranquil memorial tablet standing quietly. In the 21st year of the Guangxu reign (1885), Bao Shizhao, the local patrol inspector, renovated the tomb, and Yu Yue rewrote the tomb epitaph.
