Zhang Tomb Village Site

The Zhang Tomb Village Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City.

The Site of the Zhang Tomb Village is located to the north of Longxiang Village in Yuexi Town. It is a Neolithic site, approximately 400 meters long from east to west, about 30 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of around 12,000 square meters, with a cultural layer over 1 meter thick. In 1987, archaeological finds included sandy red pottery fish-fin-shaped tripod legs, black-glazed pottery ring-footed plates, and perforated dou handles from the Liangzhu Culture period; clay red pottery flared-rim basket-patterned jars, rolled-rim basket-patterned jars, black-glazed pottery gui (food vessels), and sandy gray pottery ? from the Maqiao Culture period; as well as round-bottomed bowls with incised patterns inside, sandy gray pottery tripods, gray pottery ring-footed plates, bowls, stamped hard pottery zun (wine vessels), proto-porcelain dou, and bowls from the Shang and Zhou periods. The site is relatively well preserved.
