Anting Old Street is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Anting Old Street is located in Anting Town, Jiading District, Shanghai. It boasts a long history and profound cultural heritage. Historical records state: “A pavilion was set up every ten li, named ‘An’ (peace), and the town was built around the pavilion,” which is how Anting got its name. Since ancient times, Anting has been a place abundant in resources and bustling with commerce. The town’s river, Anting Jing, runs from north to south, with streets lining both sides along its banks. These streets stretch approximately one li from north to south. Centered around Yan Si Bridge, there were over 150 shops of various sizes in the Ming Dynasty, with markets held daily. The main goods traded were cotton, local cloth, and grain.

The area retains the classic "path–bridge–street" layout of Jiangnan water towns. The buildings on the old street are understated yet dignified, exuding the charm of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Strolling through the quaint Anting Old Street—with its grey-tiled houses, upturned eaves, and classic ancient aesthetics—visitors can not only pray for blessings at the thousand-year-old Bodhi Temple, known as the “No. 1 Temple in Shanghai” and originally built during the Three Kingdoms period, but also climb the nine-story Yong’an Pagoda, admire the unique rocks and calligraphy paintings of the old street, and enjoy a boat ride under the tree-lined waters, offering an extraordinary holiday experience. During the 2009 Tourism Festival, in the selection of “Shanghai’s Top Ten Night Light Sceneries,” Anting Old Street was honored as one of them. When night falls, the splendid lights illuminate the old street, enhancing the timeless charm of its millennia-old whitewashed walls and black tiles.

In addition, Anting is a demonstration site for the “Experiential Journey of Urban-Rural Interaction for the Expo.” “Automotive culture tourism” is its highlight. In Anting, besides enjoying leisurely tourism on the old street, visitors can also explore fashionable automotive culture destinations such as the Shanghai International Circuit F1 and the Automobile Museum.
