The Minhang District History Exhibition Room was opened on May 27, 2000, on the 51st anniversary of Shanghai’s liberation. Covering an area of over 200 square meters, the exhibition room is divided into four sections: “Tracing Chunshen,” “Footprints Through Time,” “Minhang’s New Look,” and “Great Figures’ Hopes.” It displays 187 historical photographs and 176 archival materials from various periods since the establishment of Shanghai County in 1292 (the 27th year of the Yuan Dynasty), recreating the historical evolution of Minhang District. In particular, it highlights the dramatic changes that have taken place since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, making it an important venue for patriotic education among citizens. Admission is free for the public, and the venue also offers free facilities and support for events such as coming-of-age ceremonies for teenagers.
