Osaka's newly opened "cat + human" capsule hotel lets you nap with cats

Not just humans have capsule hotels. To protect stray cats, a business in downtown Osaka has launched a brand-new "Cat Nap Space CAT & BED & BOOK" ! It offers not only the chance to play with cats and enjoy drinks but also the unique experience of napping together in a space resembling a capsule hotel.

The "Neco Republic OSAKA," which opened on May 22 in central Osaka, is a shelter space for stray cats found throughout Japan. The branch located in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka has five floors: the first floor is a café-bar where visitors can play with and feed the cats, the second floor sells cat goods and toys. The third and fourth floors are nap spaces where guests can directly interact with the cats, and the rooftop features a cat walking area.

The store currently houses 22 cats, all over 8 months old. The operating income helps cover the cats' expenses and food. Admission fees are charged based on time. About 1,100 yen for half an hour, and 1,600 yen for one hour. The store also offers a variety of cat-themed desserts and drinks.
