Hammer Peak

Hammer Peak is located within Dayangcha in Jiangyuan District, on the south side of National Highway 201. It consists of two massive stone peaks — one is majestic and towering, while the other is slender and delicate, appearing affectionately close, resembling a devoted couple standing together.

The larger peak rises over 100 meters high and is incredibly steep. A small path beside the peak allows you to climb directly to the top, where you’ll be greeted with a refreshing and awe-inspiring view that evokes the feeling of “looking down upon all the other mountains.” At the base of the peak, there is a cave about 40 meters long. Below the peak, a river winds around, accompanied by two other peaks, creating a spectacular scene. When viewed from west to east, the peaks resemble two enormous hammer-like stones shooting straight into the blue sky; when seen from east to west, they look like a charming and cuddly polar bear.

Legend has it that these two peculiar peaks were originally a married couple who were ginseng spirits. They came from the deep mountains to this area to help an honest and hardworking cowherd. They transformed into these two peaks to subdue a greedy, cruel, and vicious local tyrant, demonstrating to the world that diligence and honesty are the foundations of a good character, that good deeds are rewarded by heaven, and that evil will never be tolerated by both heaven and people.
