The Huludao Tashan Blocking Battle Memorial Tower is a cultural tourism attraction and a patriotic education base.

Introduction 　

The back of the memorial tower features an inscription that details the battle and heroic deeds. It is located atop Dongloutai Mountain in Tashancun Village, Tashan Township, Lianshan District, 12 kilometers east of Huludao city center and 9 kilometers southwest of downtown.

The Martyrs' Tower was built in October 1963 to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs of the Tashan Blocking Battle during the 1948 Liaoshen Campaign. The site was originally a beacon tower from the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty, locally known as "Dongloutai." During the war, it served as the frontline command post of the People's Liberation Army, with fierce fighting on three sides, making the location of the memorial tower highly significant. In 1979, the tower was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. The Martyrs' Tower cemetery covers an area of over 20,000 square meters, shaped like a square, situated on high ground with a broad view. The memorial tower is constructed from white granite blocks, reinforced internally with steel and cement, and has a convex planar shape. It stands 12.5 meters tall, with a square base. The front protruding part features a wreath relief, depicting a large wreath made of broad-petaled roses tied with wide bands. The front of the tower bears golden characters reading: “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs of the Tashan Blocking Battle,” signed by —. During the war, — served as the Deputy Political Commissar of the Northeast People’s Liberation Army Headquarters. The left, right, and rear sides of the tower feature reliefs of five-pointed stars and three flags. The top of the tower is adorned with cloud-pattern reliefs, while the back of the base is inlaid with a bronze stele erected by the Fifth Huludao Municipal People's Congress, detailing the battle and heroic deeds. The inscription is in regular script, totaling 524 characters. The exhibition room south of the tower displays revolutionary relics from the Tashan Blocking Battle.
