About 3 kilometers south along the west bank road of the Kuerdening Grand Iron Bridge, you’ll reach the Red Birch Forest. The forest varies in width from over ten meters to several dozen meters and stretches nearly 1 kilometer in length. Remarkably, both sides of the road along the west bank are lined almost entirely with tall birch trees, all over a hundred years old. In the sparse areas, ancient trees tower into the sky, twisting or standing straight; in the denser parts, vines and creepers entangle the space, making it impassable even for cattle and horses.
