Iron Limu Cliff Inscriptions

Located in the Iron Limu Gully of Tastobe Township. "Iron Limu" is a Mongolian term meaning "mill," and legend has it that a mill once stood here. After entering the main gully for 8 kilometers and then following the right tributary gully for 500 meters, you will find two flat, wall-like brown upright rocks on the right slope, about 5 meters apart. Several lines of inscriptions are carved vertically on them, resembling Mongolian script. One of the rocks features a human-like figure in the lower right corner, but some of the characters have become unclear due to erosion from wind and rain, though the rest remain relatively well-preserved.

Tastobe Township: Tastobe Township is located in the heart of the western plain area of Gongliu. To the east, it connects to the county town, Liangfan Farm, and Dongmaili Township. To the south, it borders Yishigilik Mountain and adjoins Tekes County. To the west, it neighbors Tikeareke Township, to the northwest, it meets the 73rd Regiment of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps’ Fourth Division, and to the north, it lies along the Ili River. The township covers a total area of 621,000 mu, approximately 413.4 square kilometers. It administers six administrative villages—Tastobe, Bahabai, Yingtamu, Kunatamu, Kezileyuletuzi (Hongxing), and Yilgaida—26 villager groups, one neighborhood committee, and a total of 17 natural villages.
