Aktam Ancient Tombs Cluster

The Aktam Ancient Tombs Cluster is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on both sides of the earthen mounds west of Aktam Pastoral Village in Agarsen Township, there are numerous small earthen burial mounds. Some are almost level with the ground. Locals call it Jia’ertebie, meaning "a multitude of mounds like horse manes." It is speculated that these may be ancient tombs from the period of the Saka to the Wusun peoples.

Agarsen Town: Agarsen Township is located at the confluence of the Tekes River and the Gongnaisi River in the central part of Gongliu County. To the east and north, it faces Xinyuan County and Nileke County across the Tekes River and the Ili River; to the west, it borders Dongmaili Township and Kuosagas Pasture; and to the south, it connects with Tekes County. With a total area of 1.071 million mu, approximately 714 square kilometers, it is the largest township in the county.
