The Longfeng Mountain Scenic Area is located in Xiadahe Township, Liaoyang County, adjacent to the renowned Qianshan Scenic Area, and just 30 kilometers from Shoushan, the seat of Liaoyang County government.

The scenic area spans a planned area of 20 square kilometers, with over 1,000 acres of mountain terrain, current building area exceeding 3,000 square meters, and a total investment of over 30 million yuan. With incense lingering around the mountaintop and the distant sound of morning bells from the Dragon Peak Temple on the majestic Golden Vajra Mountain, the scenic spot captivates with its unique charm. Amidst the wondrous mountains and waters, it spreads the beauty of the eastern hills, welcomes investments from all over, and greets visitors from near and far. Longfeng Mountain boasts distinctive mountain and water resources. At the foot of the mountain along the Jiulong River, nature’s craftsmanship has created a unique natural landscape. Among its most famous sights are: the Angry Buddha Subduing Demons, the Golden Toad Welcoming the Sunrise, the Rhinoceros Turtle Gazing at the Moon, the Sacred Golden Vajra, the Divine Dragon Commanding the Waters, the Reclining Buddha Preaching Zen, the Eagle and Pine Protecting the Dharma, and the Nine Dragons Playing in the Water—collectively known as the Eight Famous Scenes of Longfeng. In addition, there are 28 natural wonders such as the Buddha Summit, the One-Line Sky, and the Guest-Greeting Pine, each breathtaking and awe-inspiring. For those seeking thrills, the Jiulong River rafting offers another exciting experience.

The Longfeng Mountain Scenic Area also features magnificent cultural landscapes, including the White Cloud Cave Heaven, the Sarira Pagoda, the Golden Vajra Shrine, and the morning bells and evening drums. Especially notable is the Sarira Pagoda, entirely carved from white marble, which stands with impressive grandeur, exquisite craftsmanship, and is rarely seen in China.

Longfeng Temple has a long history, beautiful legends, and exceptional natural resources. During the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Taizong Li Shimin stationed troops here while on his campaign in Liaodong, leaving behind many fascinating legends. Later, monks built Longfeng Temple on this mountain where the Tang emperor had stayed, and ever since, the morning bells and evening drums have echoed through the hills, drawing many visitors. The scenic area boasts beautiful natural scenery with clear waters and lush mountains, dotted with peculiar rocks and unusual trees. Longfeng Temple, nestled in the mountains, has a long history and widespread fame. The landscape here harmonizes water and mountain views, offering many splendid scenic spots and breathtaking seasonal beauty, enriched by enchanting local legends. On the Golden Dragon Summit of Vajra Mountain, the dragon head peak glows golden under the sunlight by day and reflects moonlight on its scales by night. As you climb the steps, you can see layered peaks to the south resembling a peacock spreading its tail, and to the north, you’ll gaze upon natural wonders such as the Golden Vajra Guardians, the Golden Toad Welcoming the Sunrise, and the Rhinoceros Turtle Gazing at the Moon. Near the old temple site, twin peaks rise through the clouds, offering views of the White Cloud Cave, the Guest-Greeting Pine, the Reclining Buddha Mountain, and the Jiulong River—each scene more stunning than the last. The 28 natural wonders of Vajra Mountain, including the Human Head Peak, the Reclining Lion Peak, the One-Line Sky, and the Eagle Beak Pine, are masterpieces of nature that leave visitors in awe. The cultural landmarks such as the Yuantong Treasure Hall, the White Cloud Cave Heaven, the East and West Side Halls, the Dining Hall, the Immortal Bridge, the Dragon Buddha Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Bell and Drum Tower, and the Mountain Gate are uniquely designed and exquisitely crafted. The Sarira Pagoda—the only one in Northeast China housing the Buddha’s relics—stands out with its 21-meter height and hollow white marble structure, making it a rare sight in the country. Here, a stretch of emerald water winds around the mountain, with clear streams appearing and disappearing along the way. The rocks display graceful forms like coiled dragons and crouching tigers, while the great mountain seems to smile, hiding its cave heavens within.
