Puerta del Sol
Introduction Puerta del Sol in Madrid is the zero kilometer point of all highways in Madrid and the entire Spain. In Spain, you can truly say: all roads lead to Puerta del Sol. This square has also been the site of many important events in modern Madrid history.
The square features the famous statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, one of the symbols of Madrid. The building facing the statue of King Carlos III was originally the Madrid Post Office and now houses the regional government of the Community of Madrid.
