The building was originally constructed as a neoclassical structure from the mid-19th century, with four floors, elegant light gray stone walls, and a striking black cast iron gate. It once served as the residence of the Marquis of Alhama and later as a bookstore named “Librería Padrino.” To pay homage to its storied past, Barcelona-based interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán retained the bookstore’s sign as part of the façade. He also employed colonial-style design to seamlessly blend the elegance and fashion of the interiors with the building’s historical essence. The color palette, dominated by fresh blue and white, creates a mature and composed atmosphere — appearing relaxed and light, yet never frivolous. Colonial design elements abound: pale pink walls, dark brown wood, exposed ceiling beams, arched floor-to-ceiling windows with intricate carvings, cast iron balconies, and built-in fireplaces. The indigo leather accents on the walls exude refined luxury, while bold pops of color from orange armchairs, abstract art, patterned rugs, and silver-toned metal furnishings add a touch of contemporary flair.

The hotel also offers thoughtful amenities and services. There are no restrictions on check-in time, allowing 24-hour arrivals, and guests are provided with free city Wi-Fi mobile devices. A breakfast à la carte is available all day, offering non-set menu options so you can order freely according to your preferences. The 24-hour coffee bar La Despensa provides takeaway snacks and light meals for busy travelers. The popular lobby bar GastroBar, helmed by Spanish chef Carlos Martín, serves creative Spanish cuisine that lets you savor the city’s creativity and laid-back vibe through taste.
