Retiro Park

Introduction   Retiro Park is the most famous park in Madrid. It was commissioned in the 17th century by King Philip IV as a recreational space for the royal family. The park houses over 15,000 plants and features many important monuments.

The park features a stunning Glass Palace made of iron and glass, with swans gracefully gliding in the fountain in front of the building. There is also the Velázquez Palace. Both palaces were built in the late 19th century and now serve as exhibition halls.  Transportation
