The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is located on Madrid's Paseo del Prado, the capital of Spain. Established in 1992, it is one of Madrid’s most renowned art museums. Its collection originates from the private holdings of the Thyssen-Bornemisza family, which began acquiring art in the early 20th century, making it one of the richest and most significant private art collections in the world.

This highly popular art museum is part of Madrid’s Golden Triangle of Art, along with the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofía National Art Museum. Its collection complements the other two by including paintings from the 13th to the 20th century. The museum allows visitors to explore art from the 13th to the 20th century, displaying over 1,000 works of art. Around 220 of these come from the Thyssen-Bornemisza family collection, featuring 17th-century paintings, 18th- and 19th-century landscapes, naturalist works, early Impressionist, late Impressionist, and Post-Impressionist paintings, as well as some of the earliest avant-garde, Cubist, and Expressionist works of 20th-century abstract art — a dazzling array that leaves visitors in awe.

As visitors stroll through the vast museum, they can admire works by artists such as Van Dyck, Dürer, Caravaggio, Rubens, Picasso, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse, and Kandinsky.
