Museum of the Americas
The Museum of the Americas is located in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Established in 1941, it is a museum dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting artworks, archaeological artifacts, and ethnological items related to the Americas. Its collection spans various objects from the Paleolithic era to the present day, making it the ideal place in Spain to learn about the history, culture, religion, and way of life of the Americas.
The museum houses a collection of over 25,000 items, featuring artifacts from various countries and ethnic groups across the Americas. The exhibitions are rich and diverse, leaving visitors in awe. The permanent exhibitions are divided into five main sections: Awareness of the Americas, Reality of the Americas, Society, Religion, and Communication. These sections tell the history, culture, and religion of the Americas from five different perspectives. The museum’s highlights include a large number of archaeological artifacts from the Americas as well as human remains dating back to prehistoric times. Among the collections are ceramic vessels from Peru, Mayan urns, Chimu containers, an 18th-century Tlingit helmet, a 16th-century bronze helmet of a Spanish soldier, and ancient Peruvian artworks.
