Grand Theatre
Introduction The Grand Theatre is a classical-style theatre designed and built by architect Victor Louis between 1773 and 1780. The theatre is 47 meters long, 19 meters high, and 88 meters wide. Its façade features 12 Corinthian columns reminiscent of those in front of Greek temples, with the upper parts of the columns carved with figures from Greek mythology, including muses of music and poetry. The lavish interior staircase is modeled after that of the Palais Garnier opera house in Paris.
