The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is back again this year, organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and sponsored by China Construction Bank (Asia), taking place on the Central Harbourfront right next to the Big Wheel – very convenient indeed.
And this yearthere are nearly 350 food and wine stalls, with exhibitors from 23 regions and countries around the world. Highlights include the first-time appearance of whiskey and craft beer. When it comes to fine food and drink, France certainly deserves a mention. At the booth of Atout France, you can find plenty of useful travel information about France, especially as the scenic spots in southern France are truly beautiful.

Next to the Atout France booth is the Bordeaux Village, where you can join wine tasting classes and explore numerous unique stalls – a great spot to sample French wines.
Speaking of Bordeaux, it’s a world-renowned wine region that was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as early as 2007, also making it the first entire city to be classified as a historical heritage area. Interestingly, the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival was actually inspired by the Bordeaux Wine Festival. Next year, in 2016, will mark the 10th anniversary of the Bordeaux Wine Festival, and there will even be the opening of the Cité du Vin (Wine City), which houses exhibition halls, wine tasting areas, panoramic restaurants, and serves as a departure point for vineyard tours – adding another iconic attraction to Bordeaux tourism.

Bordeaux, known as the capital of art and history, boasts over 300 historic buildings. On the other side of the city, the small villages of Bordeaux are each grape-growing regions, many of which have long been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
