Immerse Yourself in French Romance at the Bordeaux Wine Festival – Where Art Meets Wine

In the heart of Bordeaux’s UNESCO World Heritage Site—along the Garonne River—every two years in June, a grand festival is held exclusively for wine and gourmet enthusiasts—the “Bordeaux Wine Festival” (The Bordeaux Wine Festival)—expected to attract 500,000 visitors to Bordeaux.

Numerous châteaux and wine merchants from Bordeaux, as well as specialty food vendors from the Aquitaine region, gather from all over. During the event, over 80 wine-producing regions of Bordeaux and Aquitaine—including Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, Fronsac, Médoc, Graves, and the Aquitaine region—set up their own stalls along the riverbanks, forming a 2-kilometer-long “Wine Route.” Over the four days of the festival, there will be wine seminars, barrel-rolling competitions, parades by local wine associations, and processions featuring giant statues of Dionysus. Each evening at the Bourse square and along the Garonne River, audiovisual performances blending music and art will take place, and from 23:30 until midnight, fireworks shows accompanied by music will light up the sky.

Bordeaux also offers two special festival ticket packages: wine tasting vouchers and a one-day château tour. With either package, visitors can sample a variety of premium wines from Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region. Each wine tasting voucher costs €15 (approx. NTD 570); the one-day château tour runs from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, guided in English and including visits to famous local wineries, priced between €50 and €90 (approx. NTD 1,905–3,428).
