The most eye-catching part of the Residenz is the Old Royal Theatre, a precious Rococo-style golden-red building that is still in use. The magnificent Antiquarium is a grand hall, 69 meters long, built in 1571 as a candidate library. It was the largest non-religious Renaissance hall north of the Alps and now serves as the State Banquet Hall. The Residenz's Treasury exhibits many priceless jewels, including the coronation crown and other items. Transportation: Take the U-Bahn to Odeonsplatz Station; tram line 19 also reaches the site. Tickets/Opening Hours: 4 euros. Opening hours: 9:00–18:00, until 20:00 on Thursdays.
