Messe München GmbH plans to hold the ISPO Summer Edition in China for the first time in 2015. The specific date and venue will be determined later.
ISPO BEIJING 2014, the 10th edition of the Asia Outdoor & Sports Trade Show, will be held at the National Convention Center from February 19–22, 2014. As ISPO BEIJING enters its tenth year of boosting the Asian sports goods market, the industry's call for more ISPO-hosted events in China has grown louder. To meet this demand, ISPO successfully launched the “ISPO Academy Retailer Training Program” for the first time in Shanghai in June 2013: nearly 250 retailers, distributors, and brand representatives enthusiastically participated, learning about retail store management and operations, and many expressed their desire to attend similar events in the future.
Currently, the outdoor, extreme, water sports, and sports fashion sectors are all developing rapidly, while retailers are gradually shifting from product-specific sales to diversified retail services. Klaus Dittrich, CEO of Messe München GmbH, said, “It has become increasingly clear that the industry needs a second platform to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of China’s sports goods market—both brands and distributors are eager for such a platform.” In light of this, the organizer of ISPO, Messe München GmbH, has decided to hold the ISPO Summer Edition in China in 2015. The annual winter ISPO BEIJING show has evolved into an international trade platform for sports goods, and the new summer edition will leverage its valuable experience and resources to showcase new developments and trends in water sports, fitness, urban sports, extreme sports, outdoor activities, and sports fashion.
Messe München GmbH will involve exhibitors and attendees in the decision-making process to jointly determine the appropriate timing and location for the event.
In 2014, comprehensive surveys regarding ISPO BEIJING, the ISPO Academy, and the ISPO Summer Edition, among other activities, will be carried out. Customer feedback will serve as an important reference for planning the Summer Edition.
