The Oktoberfest originated in 1810 when Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxony held a grand wedding celebration. The public was specially invited to join in the festivities and offer blessings in front of Princess Therese's former residence. Continuing to this day, it has become the famous Munich Oktoberfest, with Therese Square also becoming the main event location for the annual festival.
