Allianz Arena

The Allianz Arena is named after the naming rights sold to Germany's Allianz insurance company. It is a professional football stadium located in the northern part of Munich, officially opened in April 2005. Starting from the 2005/06 season, it became the new home ground for both FC Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich, as the two clubs moved away from the Munich Olympic Stadium, which they had used since 1972. The stadium also hosted the opening match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, along with three group stage matches, one round of 16 match, and one semifinal. Additionally, the Allianz Arena was the venue for the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League Final.

The Allianz Arena was jointly designed by Basel-based architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron and the German firm Meinhard von Gerkan, Volkwin Marg and their partners (abbreviated as GMP). The stadium has a capacity of 66,000 and features three daytime nurseries, one fan merchandise shop, and a restaurant spanning a total area of 6,500 square meters. Next to the stadium is the largest parking lot in Europe, capable of accommodating 10,500 cars. The stadium cost a total of €340 million to build and is shaped like a giant tire, with its surface composed of an oval translucent shell that can be illuminated in different colors as needed — for example, red when FC Bayern Munich plays at home, blue when TSV 1860 Munich hosts a game, and ever-changing at night.
