New Pinakothek

The New Pinakothek is located in Munich, Germany. Established in 1853, it primarily houses European artworks from the 18th and 19th centuries and is one of the world’s most important museums for 19th-century art, making it an ideal venue for studying and appreciating European art.

The New Pinakothek houses a collection of more than 3,000 European paintings, covering styles from Classicism to Art Nouveau. Approximately 400 paintings and over 50 sculptures are on display. The collection can be categorized by style and period, including international painting from the latter half of the 18th century, British art from the 18th and early 19th centuries, German Romanticism, French Realism and Romanticism, history painting, German Realism, German Impressionism, Symbolism and Art Nouveau, as well as a large number of sculptures.

The sculptures in the museum mainly date from the 19th century—outstanding works by sculptors such as Bertel Thorvaldsen, Antonio Canova, Auguste Rodin, and Max Klinger are among those on display.
