The former residence of Qi Shiming is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Qi Shiming is located in Yaotou Village, Xiaohuixiang Township, Xinghualing District.

Qi Shiming (1894–1953) was a native of Taiyuan, Shanxi. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1934 but lost contact with the Party organization after his introducer left Taiyuan. In 1938, he was readmitted to the Party with the approval of the Party Committee of the 120th Division. In 1937, he organized local miners and farmers to form the Dongshan Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Unit, which became renowned across Dongshan and earned him the nickname "Qi the Second Tiger." In 1938, the guerrilla unit was reorganized into the Independent Dongshan Anti-Japanese Battalion of the 714th Regiment of the Eighth Route Army, with Qi Shiming serving as battalion commander. That same year, Qi Shiming orchestrated the famous feigned surrender incident in Taiyuan, which led to the annihilation of over 20 Japanese puppet troops and the killing of Noyoshi, head of the Shanxi Special Service Department of the Japanese Army, and Wu Xiaoneng, head of the puppet police bureau.

The former residence of Qi Shiming is a typical rural family courtyard complex consisting of three courtyards. However, due to years of disrepair, only one courtyard remains relatively well-preserved, while the cave dwellings in the other two have suffered severe damage. To commemorate this anti-Japanese hero, the local government has plans to restore the Qi Shiming Residence and establish the Dongshan Anti-Japanese Memorial Hall.

Yaotou Village: Yaotou Village is located east of the Xiaohuixiang Township government, in a mountainous area. The village has 280 households, with a total population of 1,000, covering an area of 6,229.3 mu (including 3,101.6 mu of arable land and 519.03 mu of returned farmland afforested). The sanitation area covers 18,000 square meters, with six sanitation workers, one waste collection worker, and one waste collection vehicle.
