Taiwan, located on a tectonic and seismic belt, boasts abundant natural landscapes. Aside from the well-known Taroko, the Caoling Scenic Area in Gukeng, Yunlin, also hides numerous spectacular geological sites. Caoling is home to ten famous scenic spots across Taiwan, including Penglai Waterfall, Cliff of Spring and Autumn, Steep Cliff Majesty (Little Guilin), Shuilian Cave, Frog Rock, Marvelous Cave, Soul-Striking Valley, Concentric Waterfalls, String of Pearls Pools, and Qingxi Amusement Park. Each of these landscapes is a masterpiece of nature, truly breathtaking.

The Caoling area is often marked by prominent cliffs and canyons, the most striking of which is the Caoling Millennium Gorge. Formed by the erosion of rock layers over millennia by the Millennial Stream, it is a unique canyon landscape in Taiwan and a major natural feature of Caoling. The Caoling region focuses on key development areas from Dafei Mountain and Youqing Valley to Shuilian Cave, and from Concentric Waterfalls to the Millennium Gorge. With the theme of “Millennial Geological Waterfall Scenery” and the local industry specialty of “Camellia Oil Fragrance Trail in Caoling,” it has become the most comprehensive and only geological experience theme park in central Taiwan.
