A secret wonderland rivaling Taroko’s ancient gorge, where you can see a variety of stunning rock formations in one go

Taiwan, located on a tectonic plate and earthquake zone, boasts abundant natural landscapes. Aside from the famous Taroko, the Caoling Scenic Area in Gukeng, Yunlin, also hides numerous spectacular sites. Caoling is home to ten renowned attractions across Taiwan, including Penglai Waterfall, Cliff of Spring and Autumn, Steep Cliff Majesty (Little Guilin), Shuilian Cave, Frog Rock, Marvelous Cave, Soul Valley, Concentric Waterfalls, String of Pearls Pools, and Qingxi Amusement Park. The Caoling region is often marked by prominent cliffs and canyons, the most striking of which is the Caoling Millennium Gorge. Formed by the erosion of rock layers over millennia by the Milky Way Stream, it is a unique canyon landscape in Taiwan and a major natural feature of Caoling. The area focuses on key development spots from Dafei Mountain and Youqing Valley to Shuilian Cave and Concentric Waterfalls, then to the Millennium Gorge, with the theme of “Millennial Geological Waterfall Scenery.” Coupled with the local industry specialty of “Camellia Oil Scented Trail in Caoling,” it has become the most comprehensive and only geological experience-themed park in central Taiwan.
