The Site of the Battle of Nama is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Site of the Battle of Nama is located to the north of Nama Village, Yangjiayu Subdistrict Office, Xinghualing District. The entire Nama Fortress consisted of the main Nama position and auxiliary positions numbered 1 through 9 on surrounding hills. Yan Xishan deployed his elite main force, the 8th Brigade, along with the 6th Security Regiment to defend the Nama positions; the full 30th Division and two regiments of the 40th Division formed a mobile corps ready to reinforce and counterattack at any time; artillery groups positioned at Huangjiafen, Jianziwan, the East Great and Small Gates, and Shuangta Temple to the east of the city provided fire support. At 16:00 on October 26, 1948, the 15th Corps of the North China Military Region launched an attack on the Nationalist 30th Army and Provisional 8th Brigade stationed at Nama, one of the four major strongholds of the Eastern Hills. By dawn on the 27th, they had captured the main Nama position. Over the next two days, the Nationalist forces organized 19 counterattacks, all of which were repelled by the 15th Corps. Seizing the momentum, the troops advanced further and seized six more positions. Political Commissar Li Peixin of the 44th Brigade unfortunately sacrificed his life. On November 10, the 15th Corps launched a surprise assault on the Nama artillery fort and successfully captured it. On the 12th, over 500 soldiers of the Provisional 8th Brigade stationed there staged an uprising on the battlefield, allowing the 15th Corps to take control of all Nama positions. In the 1990s, due to urban redevelopment, the Site of the Battle of Nama was damaged and disappeared.

Nama Community: Nama Village is located in the southeastern part of Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City, administratively under the jurisdiction of Yangjiayu Subdistrict Office, Xinghualing District, and classified as a suburban rural area. It was designated as an urban village in 2007 and listed as a new rural community in 2010. Nama Village is situated in the urban-rural fringe zone of eastern Taiyuan, approximately 4 kilometers from Taiyuan Railway Station. The village has over 510 households and a population of around 1,500, including 45 Party members. To the north, it borders Yangjiayu Village and Dongshan Coal Mine; to the south are Shuiyu and Songzhuang; to the west are the Dongshan Overpass Expressway and the Sanner Tree Village private economic zone.
