Introduction West Point, known as synonymous with the United States Military Academy, is world-renowned. Located 80 kilometers north of New York City, it was once the earliest military fort in the northeastern United States and served as an anti-British stronghold during the American Revolutionary War. The military academy, because it is located at West Point, is called the United States Military Academy. Established in 1802, it is a world-famous military institution. Its cadets are primarily selected by the President, Vice President, members of Congress, and recommended by regular army and reserve forces. Alumni of West Point, both past and present, are spread throughout every corner of the U.S. military and have demonstrated outstanding performance on the battlefield. Graduates such as Eisenhower, MacArthur, Bradley, Arnold, Clark, Patton, Ridgway, and Stilwell have become household-name heroes in the United States.
