Tour Guide The Conference Building houses the Security Council Chamber, the Economic and Social Council Chamber, and the Trusteeship Council Chamber. Visitors can also purchase United Nations stamps at the post office inside and mail them from within the building. There are also restaurants, shops selling goods from around the world, as well as craft stores featuring artworks donated by Member States; the Rose Garden inside the building spans 18 acres (72,842.4 square meters), offering a view of the East River. Highlights The United Nations allows visitors to tour the sessions on a first-come, first-served basis. Guided tours take approximately one hour. The complex includes the Secretariat Building, the domed General Assembly Hall, and the conference rooms located between them. Tickets are available for United Nations General Assembly and Council meetings—which take place between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are free of charge.
