Union Station

Introduction Union Station has been in use since 1908 and was the largest train station in the world at the time. It is now the headquarters of AMTEAK and serves as a hub for both long-distance and commuter trains, making it one of the most iconic stations in Washington, D.C. Designed by architect Daniel Burnham, its exterior mimics ancient Roman architecture and features an interior with a shopping mall and food court. The station houses over 120 retail outlets including clothing stores, bookstores, gift shops, travel supply stores, liquor stores, restaurants, and more. There are also various tourist services available such as a visitor center, currency exchange, car rental, tour group information, shoe shining, coin-operated lockers, shuttle buses, and travel agencies.  Transportation Metro: Take the Red Line to the Union Station stop Address: 50 Massachusetts Ave NE  Admission/Opening Hours Hours: 10am–9pm Monday to Saturday, noon–6pm Sunday
