Introduction For many visitors, Kaanapali Beach is synonymous with Maui. Along this three-mile stretch of silver sand sit six major resorts. This resort destination was creatively designed by Amfac and is Hawaii’s first and largest planned resort community. The black rocks here hold special significance — legend has it that the spirits of the deceased leap from these rocks onto the land, and only those with extraordinary spiritual strength can avoid harm. The black rocks now serve as the stage for nightly performances at the Sheraton Maui Resort.
