Nagoya Castle
Introduction:
Nagoya Castle is the symbol of Nagoya and the first stop for many travelers arriving in the city. Built in 1612, the castle is surrounded by expansive parkland, with small tea houses and traditional Japanese gardens nearby. Its most distinctive feature is the pair of golden dolphin ornaments adorning the roof. The castle was burned down during World War II and rebuilt in 1959. Today, it serves as a museum of art. In spring, over 2,000 cherry blossom trees bloom, and the surrounding greenery is lush. This is when Nagoya Castle is at its most beautiful.
Transportation:
Take the Meijo Subway Line to Sakae Station, then walk for five minutes to reach the castle.
