In Japan, the most common way to admire the night view from above is to take a cable car up a mountain or visit an observation deck.But in Nagoya, the way to enjoy the night view is very different.Visitors must board a glass ship seemingly floating in midair, where they can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Nagoya’s nighttime charm from 14 meters above the ground — the most authentic way.This unique night-viewing method has also become a popular date spot for local couples, and the best part is that it’s free to enjoy the night view here.

Located in the Sakae area, the“Oasis 21”(オアシス21) is a park that also serves as a bus terminal, shopping mall, and subway entrance. Its most eye-catching feature is the large oval-shaped roof that appears to float in the air — the “Water Universe Ship.” The entire roof is made of glass and features a flowing water surface. During the day, sunlight creates shimmering patterns on the water, visible even with a glance upward. Visitors can also take an elevator to the rooftop for an aerial stroll, get a close-up view of Nagoya TV Tower, and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Nagoya’s vibrant nightlife from 14 meters above the ground. It’s not only a top tourist attraction but also a favorite leisure spot for locals and a go-to date destination for couples.
