New Japan Routes Launched: Jetstar Sees High Potential in Nagoya, Osaka Most Popular

Jetstar Japan will launch flights to Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya starting November 27. In addition to offering a "buy one-way, get return free" promotion for the inaugural flights, the airline also introduced a limited-time sale today (December 1) with one-way fares starting from just NT$1,999 (including taxes and fees). According to Jetstar, among the three new routes, Osaka has been the most popular so far.

Liu Pei-chi, Greater China Marketing Director at Jetstar, said that to capitalize on peak travel seasons such as New Year’s Eve, Lunar New Year, and winter vacation, the budget airline market has become highly competitive at the end of this year, with multiple airlines launching new routes. Based on current sales performance, Osaka has seen the highest demand, followed by Tokyo and Nagoya. To meet passenger demand, the airline expects to offer thousands of discounted tickets through today’s promotion.

Although the Nagoya route is a newly established budget airline service between Taiwan and Japan, Jetstar believes it is an important domestic market in Japan with strong long-term potential. Compared to traditional carriers, Jetstar’s Taipei–Nagoya fares can save travelers around 30–50%. Coupled with nearby attractions such as the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and Shirakawa-go, Nagoya’s appeal as a tourist destination is also expected to rise.
