Yokohama International Stadium

Yokohama International Stadium is located in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It was opened on March 1, 1998, and has a seating capacity of 73,237, making it the largest multi-purpose stadium in Japan by seating capacity and a world-renowned football venue. The Yokohama International Stadium was one of the venues for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and also served as the stadium for the final match. In 2005, it became the venue for the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, which has been held there four times to date.

Starting from March 1, 2005, Yokohama International Stadium was named Nissan Stadium to reflect sponsorship by Nissan. However, due to FIFA's policy prohibiting the use of sponsor names during official matches, the original name is used when competitions are held. Yokohama International Stadium is the home ground of the Yokohama F. Marinos, a team in Japan’s J.League. During matches, the stadium is always packed and buzzing with energy.
